Archive for August, 2012

Ok, it’s official now. We will have our first rehearsal with our new conductor Mr. Alan Kearney on Tuesday September 4th at 8pm.

We had a meeting with our new conductor Mr. Alan Kearney from Cobh last evening.  Alan is a Music Teacher, and also conducts the Commodore Choir in Cobk.

We have set the wheels in motion for the pieces we’ll work on between September and December and discussed some other interesting ideas that we’ll be working on over the coming weeks.

So it’s all systems go again now, and Season Two here we come……

Well, that was quick!

Wow, it’s the middle of August already! where did the summer go? or did it ever arrive?

Anyway, the good news is that the countdown to our second season of Rehearsals and Performances is only a few weeks away now.

Last season was brilliant, we went from a standing start to having about 25 members, and we did several performances in places such as Bandon, Midleton, Cork City, Bishopstown and Ballincollig.

So now season two is on the way, and we’ll be getting back into the swing of things very soon.  We already have plans for a fund raising Choral Evening  in October, and we’re working on a few other little adventures too! 🙂

As always we welcome new members who are interested in singing and enjoying the craic. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we do take our music seriously.

We’re looking forward to working with our new conductor Mr. Alan Kearney, and working on building our repertoire further.

If you know someone who is interested in singing and looking for an outlet (other than the shower) why not have them contact us: baronychoir@gmail.com we’d be delighted to have new members join us.

That’s all for now, check back soon for updates.
