With only 12 weeks of history behind us so far, we’re very pleased with our progress.

We had a great turnout for our second public performance; the Christmas Caroling on the Grand Parade in Cork City, and it was great to have been able to assist the Irish Cancer Society in its fundraising efforts.

So we bid 2011 adieu, and now it’s a new year, and we we have some changes to announce.

Carolyn our Choir Director up to Christmas has relocated to Dublin, and we were sorry that she had to leave.

We worked hard over the Christmas period to find a replacement, and we are delighted to announce that Sheena Mahon from Carrigaline has taken on the job of Choir Director with immediate effect.

Sheena is also Choir Director of the Commodore Choir in Cobh and has come highly recommended.  After our first practice with Sheena, we can already see that she is excellent and are looking forward to working with her over the coming weeks and months.

Our rehearsals continue weekly on Tuesdays at 7.30pm in Water Rock House.  We understand that there are rumours doing the rounds that Water Rock House has closed, or that Water Rock House is closed for the month of January, and this is definitely not the case.  It is open every day for lunches, and the bar is open in the evenings at weekends.

We’re in recruitment mode again, so we’re looking for male and female singers to join us.   Being able to read music is not a requirement, and many of our existing members cannot.  Really what we’re looking for is people who like singing and want to learn songs and perform them as a group.  We don’t take ourselves too seriously but we do take our performances seriously.

We’re looking forward to 2012 and the challenges it will bring, and we take this opportunity to wish our members and followers a very Happy New Year.
